My work is centered around generative graphics, data visualization and interaction design. In design, I focus on effective communication through organization and intuitive interaction. My scripted artwork largely consists of algorithmic drawing machines, explorations of pattern, color, texture, and motion. I also work in digital photography, traditional artistic media, and an array of other methods.

Have any questions or comments? feel free to get in touch with me. I'm always happy to hear others' thoughts.

I am available for freelance design and other projects. See my resume for more info.

bio

I am a digital artist and designer working in a variety of emerging media. My recent work focuses around generative images, interactivity, design, and data visualization. I began using Processing, and later other programming languages, during the fall of 2008 to create dynamic works which re-create themselves differently each time and often interact with the viewers. In design, I focus on functionality, using motion and interaction, along with traditional tools of design, to create effective and engaging interfaces. Since winter 2008 I have been working with the web approaching it from a design perspective as a means for organizing and structuring information and also as a media for more abstract works.

I have always been very interested in the sciences, which have a huge influence on my work. I began my artistic career in botanical illustration and, while I've come a long way, the organic textures and compositions in my work still draw on botanical and biological imagery.

Currently I am studying at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in the Interaction Design & Art department where I continue to explore new tools and media. For more information you can read my resume or contact me with questions or comments.
