project #4:
           "shutter-feed"

shutter feed is an interactive project created to exist in a few forms.
the piece is essentially a piece of interactive software which can be run on any computer (barring a few current compatability issues to be resolved). it uses a webcam and some fairly simple processing to create what is essentially a continuous and live long exposure image. the second, collaborative iteration of the project is housed as an online gallery on this page to which anyone can upload images they create using the program.

finally the piece will be installed as an interactive exhibit where people can experience the piece live and projected and others can view online the live broadcast of what people are creating.

the software for this piece was created using mac's quartz composer (a visual programming environment developed by apple).
it runs within quicktime and requires only quicktime and a webcam to run.

to participate in the project just download the movie file and upload images you create.

there will also be an installation of the piece which people can visit or view the live broadcast of online.
